Since 1890 the state of Wyoming has done things a little differently than the rest of the US. The 44th state to join the union was the first state to allow women to vote, and the first state to elect a female governor. This is our take on the great state of Wyoming’s state flag. The red represents the Native Americans and the blood of pioneers who gave their life. The white (wood grain) symbolizes purity and uprightness. The blue represents the skies, distant mountains, fidelity, justice, virility. Finally, the Bison represents the local fauna and tradition of branding livestock.
